Welcome to Women's Ministries

Women have been a vital part of the ongoing ministry of the Church of the Open Door since its humble beginnings in Philadelphia back in 1936. Their ministries now reach throughout the community with a multiplicity of emphases and focuses...including prayer, Bible study, missions, and a host of other specific ministries designed to meet the needs of those in our congregation and beyond.

Special Events

  • Annual Kick-off in August

    This all-important meeting introduces our theme for the year, and sets the stage for all ministries and activities.

  • Annual Retreat - each January in Lancaster, PA. Our next retreat is coming soon.

    This is a time of worship, testimony, message, prayer and fellowship. Special retreat speakers and musician share blessings of joy, and challenge our women of faith. Pre-registration begins in September.

  • Ladies Spring Banquet/Tea - April 30, 2011 event

    This is an outreach event where the ladies of COD decorate their own tables. This beautiful display serves as a great way to encourage friends, neighbors and our own ladies to join us for a great message in song and word. Tickets will be available in early April.

Bible Studies

  • we have several Bible studies for ladies at the following days and times. Each study is biblically based, thought provoking, and seeks to help ladies grow in their knowledge of God, as well as connect ladies through warm, and genuine fellowship

  • Tuesday EveningsThis Bible Study is to be announced - every other week 7:00-9:00 p.m.- Alisa Karn home.

  • Wednesday MorningsThis Bible Study is to be annonced - weekly 9:30-11:30 a.m. at the church.
