Senior Pastor - Dr. Glenn Jago
Growing up in Lansdale, Glenn graduated from Calvary Baptist Christian High School in 1977. After four years at Pensacola Christian College in Pensacola, Florida, he graduated with a Bachelor of Arts in Bible with a minor in Biblical Greek language. In 1981 he returned to Lansdale and graduated from the Calvary Baptist Theological Seminary with a Master of Divinity degree.
Glenn has served as youth pastor, in Florida and Georgia prior to moving to Maryland to start a new church in the Ocean City area. In 1992, Glenn accepted a position as the college Greek Professor at Pensacola Christian.
In 1995, Glenn became senior pastor at the First Baptist Church of Cantonment located in the suburbs of Pensacola. In January of 2001, Glenn accepted the call to be the senior pastor of the Church of the Open Door. Glenn and his wife, Tammy, have three children: Elysha and her husband Jeff Wahlberg, Ethan and his wife Dianne, and Alexandra who is attending Lancaster Bible College. Glenn and Tammy are happily expecting their first grandchildren. Glenn is currently finishing his work toward the Doctor of Ministry degree from The Masters Seminary. He graduates in May 2011.
Family Pastor - Bryant Geating
Bryant has a B.A. in English from LaSalle University in Philadelphia and an M.A. in Communications out of Regent University in Virginia Beach. Bryant has also taken several courses toward a M.Div. at Bethel Seminary of the East in Dresher, Pennsylvania. In 1988 Bryant accepted his first youth ministry position at Bethlehem United Methodist Church in Thornton, PA. In 1992 he began leading the youth for the next nine years at Chelten Baptist Church in Dresher, PA.
The biggest part of Bryant's life is his wife of nearly 20 years, Lilan, and five children, John , Joshua, Christina, Faith, and Katherine. John attends PBU, Joshua & Christina attend school in the Abington School District, while Faith & Katherine attend Open Door Christian Academy. Together, they have been at COD since November of 2002, where Bryant's primary responsibility was discipleship and evangelism of the teenagers before he started in the Family Pastor/Visitation position in 2007. Full-time Drama Ministry is where Bryant started in ministry, leading The Parable Players out of Brooklyn, New York for three years. Before that, sports were a big part of Bryant's life, running on the track teams at Abington High School and LaSalle University. His favorite thing to do is anything with his family, especially if that includes rock climbing, basketball or bicycling. Many passages of scripture are among his favorites, including Matthew 5-7, Romans 8 and Genesis 1-2.
Youth Director - Ben Brown
Ben was raised in Lansdale and received Christ as his Lord and Savior when he was five. He graduated from Calvary Baptist High School in May of 2006. God gave him a strong desire to work with youth in 2004 during his 10th grade year. He served at Camp Calvary for the summers of 2006-2009 and at Northland Camp and Conference Center for the winter months of 2007-2008. He graduated from Liberty University with a B.S. in Psychology and a minor in Christian Counseling. He has been a youth leader at COD since 2008, being very involved in the youth praise team.
Ben married the love of his life, Brittany Smith, on July 17, 2010. In August of 2010 he began classes at Calvary Baptist Theological Seminary and is planning on graduating in May of 2014 with a Master's of Divinity. One of his strongest desires is to disciple the youth and prepare them spiritually for their college years and the rest of their life.
Choir Director - Dr. Carol Habegger Ward
Raised in a Christian home in South Bend, Indiana; Carol gave her life to Jesus Christ when she was ten years old at Winona Lake, Indiana at the Billy Sunday Tabernacle. Carol's parents were both music majors; her mother was the church organist, and her father was the choir director. Carol's father was her first conducting teacher.
Carol holds her undergraduate degree from Taylor University, and her masters degree from Temple University. Carol has served at the Church of the Open Door in the following ways: Teacher Open Door Christian Academy 1975-1981; Choir Director 1981-1988. Carol plays the harp, piano and flute; Carol and Nancy Beale (COD pianist) have given concerts together since 1977.
Carol has three children, Lauren (her daughter) and husband Nathan live in San Antonio with their new baby "Sammy"; JB (her son) is married to Bethany Whitstone, they live in West Virginia and work for Young Life; Zach (her son) is in graduate school at the University of Colorado. The Ward's family verse is Psalm 121.
