Senior High

Overview

The Sr. High ministry exists for 9-12th grade students who are believers or unbelievers. Our goal is to reach students where they live and connect them into a community where Christ's love will be shared. Church of the Open Door exists to glorify God in every avenue of life. Our desire for our youth is to develop a stronger, more mature relationship with their God through exciting interaction in God's Word. We want the Sr. High ministry to connect with God and others through many discipleship programs that the youth ministry offers.

Youth Sunday School (YSS):

The Sr. High meets in the art room from 9:30-10:30 am. They start with weekly interesting stories and testimonies. The morning is informal and interactive as the teens study key passages of Scripture and discuss how it can be applied to their life.

Sunday Night (Cross Over):

This is our weekly youth group gathering for 6th-12th grade. The time is from 6-7:30 pm, although everyone is invited to come a few minutes early and leave a few minutes late to hang-out with friends. Each week includes a variety of games, skits, food, small group discussions, and a challenge from God's Word.

Ministry Opportunities:

We encourage the teens to serve the Lord with their life where they can minister. These ministries include A.I.M. Active In Ministry, which provides a once a month opportunity to be involved in youth ministry. This begins at 4:30 and transitions into Cross Over. Other areas of ministry include Awana on Wednesday nights and Kids Connection of Sunday morning.

Leadership Training:

The L.O.C.O (Leaders Of Cross Over) ministry provides a monthly opportunity to sharpen their leadership skills for life. L.O.C.O. is open for all 10th-12th grade students who want to be better leaders for tomorrow. There are monthly readings, prayer, and creative opportunities to serve in Cross Over.
